Book Club FAQ
What if I already own the book?
No problem! Just let us know and we’ll either send you an alternative title from our stash or allow you to pick a different book to the equivalent value. We want your shelves happy, not double-stacked with duplicates (though we won't judge if that’s your vibe).
What kind of goodies are included?
Think bookmarks, candles, stickers, chocolate, badges and other bookish surprises. We rotate them monthly, so each parcel feels like a fresh little treasure chest.
When do we meet?
On the last Thursday of each month, online. We’ll send you link to our online discussion space and meeting in advance so you can mark your calendar and prepare your beverage of choice (tea, lemonade, beer or wine - we're all friends here).
If you are unable to make a meeting this is fine, we will still send you your book box and you are able to use the discussion forums to chat to members across the month should you wish.
Do I have to read the whole book before the meeting?
We encourage it, but life happens! Come along even if you’re halfway through. Spoilers will happen, but so will laughs, tangents and probably a debate about which fictional character we’d all run away with.
Can I join from outside the UK?
At this time our book club is UK-only because of shipping costs.
What happens if it sells out?
Drop us a message if it is showing as sold out. We’ll pop your name on the waitlist and notify you if spaces become available.
How do I sign up?
Head to our Book Club page, hit “Join Now,” and you’ll be added to the subscription. It’s first come, first served, so don’t hesitate.
How does the subscription work?
Initial payment is taken at the point of signing up. Subsequent payments are then taken on the 21st of the preceding month e.g. March book club is due on the 21st February. This allows us time to order in the correct number of books and items.
Boxes are sent out to you at the beginning of each month giving you plenty of time to start reading.
You can log in to cancel your membership at any time or you can drop us an email.
What membership options are there?
Membership options are full membership - where you receive the books and goodies each month. This is great if you want a monthly treat as well as being set up and ready to start reading straight away.
The other option is our non-book membership. This is perfect for those who still want to support the bookshop and be part of our wonderful book club community but prefer to read on e-readers or audiobooks and so do not need to receive the book each month.
Can I collect my book club parcel each month?
Yes! Now we have our physical shop you can select pick up at checkout and will receive an email when your parcel is ready. If you have selected postage and want to change to this, or vice versa, drop us a message and we can look into amending this for you.
